Note: For a 1 kW rooftop system costing Rs. 50,000, a BPL consumer will pay only Rs. 2,500, while the rest (Rs. 47,500) will be covered jointly by the state government (Rs. 17,500) and central government (Rs. 30,000).

The Maharashtra Government has made a total budget provision of Rs. 655 crore for implementing the scheme over two financial years:
